Product build

We build your product with you, and keep the reasons attached.

A backlog tells you what someone asked for. It rarely tells you who needs it, what it is for, or how you would know it worked.

We build products the other way round. Every feature is traced to the people it serves and the evidence behind it, so the build stays focused and every trade-off is visible before you make it.

Wayfinder user cards for applicant, assessor, grants administrator and finance officer, with needs, goals and workarounds

How we build

From evidence to a release, in Wayfinder

The users, the jobs they are trying to get done, their pain points and our hypotheses go into Wayfinder, our own discovery and planning platform. That record is where the product comes from.

Ways in

Start from a discovery, or from your backlog.

  1. After a discovery sprint

If the sprint says go, the build starts from its record: the users, jobs and hypotheses are already in Wayfinder.

  2. With an existing backlog

We bring your backlog into Wayfinder and link each item to who needs it and why. The gaps become the first questions we answer.

  3. Specify

We confirm the scope for the cycle, design the screens and test them with users before anything is built.

  4. Throughput

The team builds, people and agents working in parallel, and you review working software on staging as it comes together.

  5. Evaluate

We measure the result against the hypotheses and agree what the next cycle should do. The cycles roll on, each at a fixed price, until you release, pivot or stop.

Products we have built

Start-ups and scale-ups. Real products.

SyncTech

A proof of concept and prototype to test market fit and support funding, then product planning, an access control framework and a new interface.

Relate

Product advisory and assurance, then an embedded product team; the product runs on Storyblok and Next.js.

What are you building?

Tell us about the product, who it is for and where it is up to. We will tell you whether to start with a discovery or go straight to a delivery cycle.
