HASTE

Five phases from an idea to the evidence.

Most products that disappoint were built exactly as asked. The problem was the asking: nobody tested who needed it, and nobody wrote down what success would look like.

HASTE is the way we deliver products. Five phases, each ending in a decision, and a fixed price for every cycle. AI agents join the team to speed up the build once people have decided what to build.

From A$40k · 4-week cycles · A fixed price and a decision every cycle

HASTE flow diagram: five phases, Hypothesise, Assess, Specify, Throughput and Evaluate, joined by a continuous learning loop

The framework

Hypothesise, Assess, Specify, Throughput, Evaluate

Each phase ends at a gate where a person decides what happens next. The last phase feeds the first, so every cycle starts from what the previous one taught us.

Ways in

Start with the question you have.

  1. Should we build it?

A discovery sprint runs Hypothesise and Assess at a fixed price: 4 weeks, from A$40k, ending in a go/no-go you can take to your executive.

  2. We know what we need

A delivery cycle runs Specify, Throughput and Evaluate at a fixed price: 4 weeks, from A$60k, ending in working software measured against the hypotheses. Then the next cycle rolls on.

  3. A new product from scratch

The full cycle runs all five phases, from framing the problem through to evaluating the first release.

  4. At the end of every cycle

A session with your sponsors to decide what happens next: release, iterate, pivot or stop, with the evidence on the table.

Where it comes from

Habits from years of product work

LiveTiles

Designs for the Reach product were prototyped and tested with real users every sprint, before development.

Decisively

Workshops to prioritise the backlog, and a roadmap to the first release, before the build began.

Our own tools

Wayfinder holds the discovery and the storyboard. Pathfinder runs the delivery, with people and agents on one board.
